The Woodstock Music & Art Fair was a music festival held on a 600-acre (2.4-km 2) dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York, from August 15 to August 18, 1969.Thirty-two acts performed during the sometimes rainy weekend in front of nearly half a million concertgoers.
A number of activities to commemorate the festival took place around the world. On August 15, at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts overlooking the original site, the largest assembly of Woodstock performing alumni since the original 1969 festival performed in an eight-hour concert in front of a sold-out crowd.
