The poems of 'Alqama ibn 'Abada and Al-Nabigha are from the same period. In Al-Nabigha's poem sometimes reckoned as a Muʻallaqah, he addresses himself to the king of al-Hirah, al-Nu'man III ibn al-Mundhir, who reigned in the two last decades of the sixth century. The same king is mentioned as a contemporary in one of poems of ʻAlqama.

Ilá Ṭughāt al-‘Ālam (Arabic: الى طغاة العالم, English: To the Tyrants of the World), also known as Ela Toghat Al Alaam, is a poem written in the early 1900s by the Tunisian poet Aboul-Qacem Echebbi during the French conquest of Tunisia.
Ḥamāsah (from Arabic حماسة valour) is a well-known [1] ten-book anthology of pre-Islamic Arabic poetry, compiled in the 9th century by Abu Tammam. Along with the Asma'iyyat, Mufaddaliyat, Jamharat Ash'ar al-Arab, and Mu'allaqat, Hamasah is considered one of the primary sources of early Arabic poetry. [2]
The poem takes its name from the last letter of each of its 68 lines, L (Arabic ل, lām). The poem is traditionally attributed to the putatively sixth-century CE outlaw ( ṣu‘lūk ) Al-Shanfarā , but it has been suspected since medieval times that it was actually composed during the Islamic period.
This poem has been the subject of numerous commentaries. [1] It was the first Hafez poem to be translated into a European language, when Franciscus Meninski (1623–1698) turned it into Latin prose in 1680. [1] Another Latin translation was made by the English orientalist scholar Thomas Hyde (1636–1703).
1811: Jonathan Scott (1754–1829), an Englishman who learned Arabic and Persian in India, produces an English translation, mostly based on Galland's French version, supplemented by other sources. Robert Irwin calls it the "first literary translation into English", in contrast to earlier translations from French by "Grub Street hacks". [71]
