Considering how dirt cheap super slims are compared to the rest of the models, with Hen doesn't make much sense to get a Blu Ray drive, however on the other hand if you happen to have a laptop with a compatible drive then it's hard to argue against this, also in a few years when working units become scarce and drives cheaper, this will be the go to way.
start Ps3 Disc Dumper, in settings set your output folder. mount iso (in windows right click>>open with..>>Windows explorer, wait for PS3 Dumper to recognize game and download disc key file >>press start, wait. That gives you decrypted game in folders. You can copy it to GAMES folder (on int.hdd/usb hdd/net share) and just run like that.
Open the disk dumper (it may give you a "not responding" message your first time using it, but wait it out, it WILL work! The decrypted game will be in a folder within the PS3 disc dumper file folder, enjoy!

Yeah I've been trying to complete my USA ps3 collection and its missing a bunch of those IRDs. The only place I'm aware of that would have them is Redump. A few examples I have sitting in my "ps3 no ird" folder: BLUS31513, BLUS31612, BLUS31608, BLUS31610, BLUS31617, and a bunch more.

My question is, since the PS3 Disc Dumper program seems to just be copying the data I'm already able to see myself can I skip it and use windows copy to backup my games or do I need to use this program for a useable copy due to encryption? Just asking because the windows direct copy has been incredibly fast and will save a few minutes per disc.
