There is a new fine wine bar in Helsinki airport (Finland). The idea of the bar is created by a group of Finnish wine writers, sommeliers and collectors, known for their Fine Wine Magazine (Scandinavian, British, German and American editions) and their newly released book 1000 Finest Wines Ever Made. The concept is to present five fine and mature fines at a time by the glass, and one of these ...

    forums.winespectator.com/topic/coravin-thoughts

There were two videos posted there this morning demonstrating a new wine preservation product- the Coravin. It utilizes a thin, hollow needle and argon gas to extract wine from a bottle- right through the capsule and cork. The argon displaces the wine through the needle and into your glass, while cork integrity remains.

I stripped out and rebuilt a smoker from a 6'+ commercial fridge along the Cookshack model, using that controller. In this, I have done 60+ lbs of bacon, 6 large turkeys, or 14 turkey breasts.

There’s nothing to say that one can’t do all of those regions, but there might be critics who have years more experience with Bordeaux and Napa.

A local wine shop had Pauline Wlodarczyk (the US Brand Ambassador for Palmer) in town for a tasting of some of their current releases. Palmer & Co has been around since 1947 and was started when 7 grower families from the Montagne de Riems joined together. Their oldest vines are 75 years old. Here are my notes: NV Palmer & Co Champagne Brut Réserve Roughly 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and ...

  10. Leroy question?....Wax capsule vs. foil capsule? | Wine Spectator...

    forums.winespectator.com/topic/leroy-question-wax-capsule-vs-foil-capsule

Grey foil --> maison, red foil or wax --> domaine. The difference in the closure, if not entirely random, may be whether or not it was exported. I just looked, and the only Leroy I have here at the house are Clos de Vougeot, Corton Charlemagne and Richebourg, and all are 2002 or older. All have a wax cap.

I received a reply to the email I sent Vintages. They said they consulted Claudius Fehr regarding my concern and that he indicated that they received no indication from Muga that there were two different Reserva Cuvees. Here's the funny part; The email ends with "We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience and encourage you to return the wine to your local LCBO store for a full refund"
