St. Lawrence Catholic Church is a historic church located in Stangelville, Wisconsin. [1] On July 1, 2000, the parish of St. Lawrence merged with St. Hedwig's and St. Joseph-St. John to form the parish of St. Therese de Lisieux, based in Denmark , which continues to use the church as a worship space.
St. Joseph's Parish was organized in 1842, the first Roman Catholic church in Waukesha. Solomon Juneau donated the first church building, which was a log cabin on the site of the current complex. In 1844 the parish built a stone church building, [ 3 ] which has since served as a parish hall, school, and medical clinic.
