Buckaroo! is a favorite game of Father Dougal McGuire in Irish sitcom Father Ted. He regularly plays the game with Ted, despite the fact that Ted hates it and would rather play chess. [3] Buckaroo! is recreated by the team of Ed Gamble, Katy Wix, and Rose Matafeo on the fourth episode of the 9th series of Taskmaster [4]
The Temco T-35 Buckaroo (company designation TE-1) was designed in the late 1940s as an extremely low-cost trainer for commercial and military markets. Temco's failure to secure a United States Air Force order for the Buckaroo forced it to turn to non-U.S. governments to keep the production lines going, yet only a few export orders materialized.
Developed from the earlier Temco Buckaroo, the Plebe was a single-engined low-wing monoplane with a retractable tricycle landing gear. The Plebe was powered by a 225 hp (168 kW) Continental O-470-3 piston engine with a two-bladed tractor propeller.
TEMCO retained the rights to the design in 1947, producing it in small numbers for the next four years. Equipping the Swift with a much more powerful engine and tandem two-seat cockpit turned it into the T-35 Buckaroo trainer aircraft, which competed and lost out to the Beechcraft T-34 Mentor. Ten T-35's were eventually sold to Saudi Arabia.

The most unusual variant of the series became a separate design, the TEMCO TE-1 Buckaroo which was built in a short-run first as a contender for a USAF trainer aircraft contract, and was later transferred to foreign service as a military trainer. [5] Several of these trainers have since returned to the civil market.
