U.S. Route 90 (US 90) is a major east–west highway in the U.S. state of Texas with large portions of it running concurrently with I-10. US 90 begins at Bus. I-10 in Van Horn , travels through San Antonio and Houston , and continues on into the state of Louisiana .

The route spans Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. A Texas Department of Transportation study on US 90 is set to be conducted from Fall 2023 up until Winter 2024.

The business route was created in 1992 when US 90 was realigned off the route between Beltway 8 and FM 2100. [2] The portion of the business route between I-610 and Beltway 8 remained concurrent with US 90 until the completion of the current US 90 along the Crosby Freeway in January 2011. [2] [7] The entire route is in Harris County.
Present-day FM 78 is part of what was the much longer original SH 3 designated in 1917. Most of this route was usurped by US 90 during the mass redescription of the state's highway system in 1939, while FM 78 was designated on August 3, 1943 over the portion of SH 3 which ran from FM 25 (now part of SH 46) in western Seguin to SH 218 at what was then known as Randolph Field.
