In 1723, Baku was besieged by the troops of Peter I, and the city was bombed. In this regard, the south-eastern facades of the palace suffered much. The Palatial mosque in Baku (Azerbaijani: Saray məscidi), also known as the Palace Mosque (Azerbaijani: Şah Məscidi; Arabic: مسجد شاه (باكو)), and Shirvanshahs Palace Mosque, is a mosque, located inside the Palace of the Shirvanshahs complex, in the Old City of Baku, Azerbaijan. [1] [2] The mosque was built in AH 845 (1441/1442). [3]
Azerbaijan has five sites on the list. The first site added to the list was the Walled City of Baku with the Shirvanshah's Palace and Maiden Tower, in 2000. Due to the damage sustained in the 2000 Baku earthquake, the site was listed as endangered from 2003 to 2009. [4] The Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape was listed in 2007.

In 1941–1954, the Museum of History was transferred to the Shirvanshahs palace.
