D'Arcy Island is an 83-hectare (210-acre) island in Haro Strait, south of Sidney Island and east of the Saanich Peninsula (Vancouver Island). It is the southernmost of the Gulf Islands and is part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.
D'Arcy Island on the Canadian side of the strait was a leper colony for Chinese immigrants in the 19th century. Older USGS maps, such as the 1976 edition of the Victoria quadrangle (1:250,000 scale), show Haro Strait as encompassing Boundary Pass, passing south of Saturna Island.

The rapid Gates River at the south end (formerly called Anderson Creek) is the primary inflow.

Plus there's Sidney Island, James Island, and D'Arcy Island in Haro Strait, with names like Sidney Channel, Hughes Passage, Cordova Channel, etc, in and amongst them. There's quite a scattering of tiny islands in the strait as well.
