As of the 2020 United States census , the township's population was 8,028, [ 11 ] [ 12 ] a decrease of 322 (−3.9%) from the 2010 census count of 8,350, [ 19 ] [ 20 ] which in turn reflected an increase of 96 (+1.2%) from the 8,254 counted in the 2000 census .
