Battle Creek is a part of the Odebolt–Arthur–Battle Creek–Ida Grove Community School District. It was formerly a part of the Battle Creek–Ida Grove Community School District , [ 12 ] which was established in 1994, [ 13 ] until its merger with the Odebolt–Arthur Community School District on July 1, 2018.
There was a previous attempt to merge the districts in fall 2016, but voters from Odebolt–Arthur voted it down out of fear that their school would close. There were tensions between the Odebolt–Arthur and Battle Creek–Ida Grove communities. [5] By 2018 the merger was approved. [2]

Battle Creek is a stream in Ida County, Iowa, United States. [1] It is a tributary of the Maple River . Some claim that Battle Creek was named for a skirmish between Native American tribes near the stream. [ 2 ]
The district was established on July 1, 1994, as a merger of the former Battle Creek and Ida Grove school districts.
