Al's Bar was a Los Angeles bar in the American Hotel that served as a gathering spot for that era's downtown art and music scenes. At the time of its closing, it was primarily known as the West Coast's oldest punk club, but over the years it regularly hosted theater plays, art exhibitions, and "No Talent Nights".

Downtown Los Angeles: The Brockman Building is a 12-story Classical and Romanesque Revival building located in Downtown Los Angeles. Built in 1912, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
It was declared Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No.313 in 1986. Across Central Avenue from the Temple is the Japanese American National Museum, and north of that is the original (and largest) branch of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, now known as the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
