The Swan Range is a mountain range in western Montana in the United States. [1] Its peaks typically rise to around 8,000 to 9,000 feet (2,400 to 2,700 m). The range is bounded by the South Fork Flathead River to the east, the Flathead River to the north and northwest, the Swan River to the west, and lie to the southwest of Glacier National Park, just south of the Canada–US border.
The Mission Mountains or Mission Range are a range of the Rocky Mountains located in northwestern Montana in the United States. They lie chiefly in Lake County and Missoula County and are south and east of Flathead Lake and west of the Swan Range. On the east side of the range is the Swan River Valley and on the west side the Mission Valley.
Charlotte Peak is located in the Swan Range, a subset of the Rocky Mountains. It is situated in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, on land managed by Flathead National Forest. Precipitation runoff from the mountain drains to Big Salmon Lake and the South Fork Flathead River.

The Mission Mountains Wilderness is located in the U.S. state of Montana. Created by an act of Congress in 1975, the wilderness is within the Swan Lake Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest. U.S. Wilderness Areas do not allow motorized or mechanized vehicles, including bicycles.
It is west of the Rocky Mountain Front, east of the Swan Range and southeast of the Whitefish Range. Its west side is drained by the South Fork Flathead River which forms Hungry Horse Reservoir. The highest peak is Red Mountain at 9,411 ft. [1] Scapegoat Mountain is the second-highest and Pentagon Mountain is ninth-highest.
