Location of Pakistan. Legal education in Pakistan was initiated before independence and dates back to the 1800s. The first legal education institution was established under the name of ‘University Law College’ (Now Punjab University Law College) in 1868.

Government Islamia College Civil Lines (Urdu: اسلامیہ کالج), formerly called Dayanand Anglo Vedic College, is a government college in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Founded by Arya Samaj as the school of Dayanand Anglo Vedic on 1 June 1886, [ 1 ] It was later renamed Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) College after Hindu leader Dayananda Saraswati .
