Worth County is a county located in the northwestern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census , the population was 1,973. [ 1 ] It is the smallest county in the state in population and, excluding the independent city of St. Louis , the smallest in total area.
Worth County Lake This area consists of a 20-acre (81,000 m 2 ) lake with a boat ramp, privy, and 37 acres (150,000 m 2 ) of old field and prairie habitat. [107]
A post office called Worth has been in operation since 1872. [4] The community takes its name from Worth County. [5] On April 29, 1947, at 3:25 PM, the F4 Worth Tornado of 1947 hit the community, killing 14 and destroying virtually every building. [6]
