The Canadian Brass is a Canadian brass quintet formed in 1970 in Toronto, Ontario, by Charles Daellenbach and Gene Watts , with horn player Graeme Page and trumpeters Stuart Laughton and Bill Phillips completing the quintet.

(/ ˈ d ɛ l ə n b ɑː k / DEL-ən-bahk; [1] born July 12, 1945) is an American and Canadian [2] tubist.He is best known as one of the founding members of the Canadian Brass, in which he remains the quintet's tuba player, publisher, business administrator and professional relationships manager.
In 1985 as a member of Canadian Brass Romm won the Juno Award Instrumental Artist of the Year. [5] He has received three honorary doctorates from Hartwick College, New England Conservatory, and McMaster University. [5] Romm was voted one of the "Top 12 Brass Players of the 20th Century" by Brass Bulletin Magazine. [6]

He was hand-picked by conductor Seiji Ozawa as principal trombonist for the Toronto Symphony, where he met Charles Daellenbach, and persuaded him to start the Canadian Brass in 1970. In 2010, he retired from touring, and is now listed as an "Emeritus" member of the Canadian Brass. [3] He currently resides in Toronto.

William Frederick Mills (March 15, 1935 – September 7, 2009) was a Canadian trumpeter and educator best known for his work with the Canadian Brass quintet from 1972 to 1996. He also served as a professor for the University of Georgia from 1996 until 2009.
