The 106th district contains parts of Lake Lewisville and Ray Roberts Lake. It is located wholly inside Texas State Senate district 30, but is split between Texas U.S. Congressional districts 4 and 26. The district borders Texas State House district 66 to its east, 57 to its west, 65 to its south, and both 62 and 68 to the north.
The Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge connects the smaller eastern part of the district, to the much larger western part of the district on the other side of Lewisville Lake. The district borders Texas House District 106 to the east, 63 to the south, and 64 to both the north and the west.
Lewisville Lake, formerly known as Garza-Little Elm Reservoir, is a reservoir in North Texas on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Denton County near Lewisville. Originally engineered in 1927 as Lake Dallas, the reservoir was expanded in the 1940s and 1950s and renamed Lewisville Lake.
