Viduthalai (transl. Liberation) is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language action heist film, directed by K. Vijayan. It stars Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Vishnuvardhan. The film was a box-office failure. It is a remake of the 1980 Hindi film Qurbani, which itself was based on the 1972 Italian film The Master Touch.
However, one song titled "Kaarkuzhal Kadavaiye" and "Ennadi Maayavi Nee" were melodic numbers which were included in the album to unify listeners; the latter featured a flute interlude. In an interview with Baradwaj Rangan of Film Companion South, he mentioned the themes in the song as a tribute to late M. S. Viswanathan, whom Santhosh had admired.
