Edie McClurg, the beloved actress from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," is battling dementia ... according to family and friends who say they're trying to protect her from a guy who's allegedly taking advantage of her. Edie's niece, cousin and friend filed docs Friday requesting a conservatorship to take control of the actress' affairs.
Edie McClurg. I've always loved her. She's like the Midwestern frau prototype. Edie looked like a 49 year old housewife, even in her 20's! My favorite movies of hers are "Carrie" and "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." She was all over in the 80s and 90s. Nursie-nurse nurse!
Edie McClurg You have to give Edie McClurg credit for stealing every one of her scenes in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" with so many charismatic actors young enough to be her kids in the cast. She's definitely one of the greatest and most memorable characters actors.
August 3, 2022 3:30 AM. Years ago someone on here posted a story about him and a friend writing a fan letter to Edie while drunk and included Polaroids of themselves shitfaced. Edie had a sense of humor about it and wrote them back and included the pictures they sent her with and wrote something on them like “sober up boys”.
[quote]Just googled and she's the lady who died on The Hogan Family starring Sandy Duncan from My Boyfriend's Back and Edie McClurg from Ferris Bueller! Do a little more research OP. Go back into the 1970s and see who Valerie Harper was. Then get back to us. I'll even give you a clue, there's a DL thread currently running pertaining to Valerie.
Edie McClurg Turns 77 Today. Poor thing has dementia. Offsite Link. by Anonymous. reply 2. August 24, 2023 6:43 PM. That made me really sad. I'm glad her family got her away from her leech of a boyfriend. by Anonymous.
The David Letterman Show premiered on June 23, 1980 and ran through October 24, 1980. It lasted only four months. This performance (according to the description of the video) was on October 14, 1980. Only 10 days before the show ended. Which tells me that the show had no budget, and they probably had to wheel that piano in from somewhere else ...
Edie McClurg was perfect in that scene. Brilliant. by Anonymous: reply 8: November 24, 2023 12:33 AM ...
The original "Carrie" (1976) One of my favorite things about this gay cult classic is that you're never entirely sure until the massacre about Sue's (Amy Irving's) and Tommy's (William Katt's) motives in having Tommy ask Carrie to the prom. Sue seems to be against Chris's (Nancy Allen's) conspiracy to humiliate Carrie White.
I feel like people are getting frau and frump confused. Edie McClurg, Mary Jo Witlett, Kathy Bates, and Melanie Lynskey are frumps. Cynthia Stevenson, Mary Kay Place, and Maura Tierney are terrific examples of fraus.
