Downtown Atlanta is the central business district of Atlanta, Georgia, United States.The largest of the city's three commercial districts (Midtown and Buckhead being the others), it is the location of many corporate and regional headquarters; city, county, state, and federal government facilities; Georgia State University; sporting venues; and most of Atlanta's tourist attractions.
Attractions include the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Centennial Olympic Park, CNN Center, Georgia Aquarium, Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park, Road Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and World of Coca-Cola. Chattanooga hosts the Tennessee Aquarium, and the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway.
The Glenn Building was built in 1923. That same year, construction of the Spring Street viaduct led to a boom in development on the west side of downtown Atlanta which included the nearby Bona Allen Office Building. The ten-story building was designed by Wadley B. Wood of Washington, D.C., and originally served as an office building.
South Downtown is located north of I-20, east of Castleberry Hill, south of Five Points, and west of I-85. Underground Atlanta is the primary shopping and entertainment center near South Downtown and it, along with the railroad gulch ("The Gulch"), separates the district from Five Points and the Hotel District.

Five Points is usually considered by Atlantans to be the center of town, and it is the origin of the street addressing system for the city and county, although four of the streets (except Edgewood) are rotated at least 30° clockwise from their nominal directions, along with the rest of the downtown street grid.
