MHS hosts a BEST Robotics team, whose goal is to build a robot with given materials, create a project notebook detailing the design aspects of the robot, direct a booth presenting more information about their robot to a judging team, and participating in a school spirit event.
It is part of the Axtell Independent School District which covers northeastern McLennan County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. [2] Axtell is also very good at football and have been district champs during the 23-24 and 24-25 seasons. They are also good at baseball, making it to the 4th round last year.
