Basil Street, originally known as North Street, is a street in London's Knightsbridge.It was laid out in the second half of the eighteenth century on land belonging to Lord Cadogan and runs between Sloane Street in the north and the junction of Walton Place and Hans Road in the south.
It is located at 22–24 Basil Street, Knightsbridge, and is known to have been visited by The Queen. [1] It was established by David Levin in April 1971. [2]
A new station entrance was inserted into the existing building on the corner of Brompton Road and Sloane Street. Subway entrances on the other corners of the junction enabled pedestrians to avoid the traffic on the busy junction. The original entrances in Brompton Road and Basil Street were closed.
