Stephen Owen Stephens (April 22, 1930 – January 29, 2021) [1] was a broadcasting pioneer in Arkansas, who originally became well known as the host of Steve's Show, a hugely popular television program in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
The Arkansas Radio Network (ARN) syndication service was founded in Little Rock in 1967 as the Delta Farm Network, originating as an early-morning program hosted by Bob Buice (who was then farm news director at KARK-FM [103.7 FM, now KABZ] and also conducted farm reports for KARK-TV).
The deal was set to be completed in March 2008 but eventually collapsed due to LK's lender refusing to provide the funding; [3] KFTY (now KEMO-TV) and KVOS have since been sold to other companies. As of October 10, 2007, Newport had agreed to sell KION-TV, KMUV-LP, K44DN, KKFX-CA, KCOY-TV to Cowles Publishing Company for $41 million. [4]
