In 1900, Cleburne was the site of the founding convention of the Texas State Federation of Labor. [9] Cleburne was primarily an agricultural center and county seat until the Santa Fe Railroad opened a major facility there in 1898. Cleburne State Park is a 528-acre (2.14 km 2) Texas state park in Johnson County, Texas operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The park includes the 116-acre (0.47 km 2), spring-fed Cedar Lake that was created by construction of an earthen dam by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The park is reached via US 67 to Park Road 21.
