On November 20, 1984, the road was extended around the eastern and southern sides of Conroe to FM 2854 west of Conroe. On February 23, 1989, the road was extended north 1.1 miles (1.8 km) from FM 2854 to SH 105, replacing FM 3374 and completing the loop around Conroe.
