Cape San Antonio (Spanish: Cabo San Antonio), is a cape which forms the western extremity of the Guanahacabibes Peninsula and the western extremity of Cuba.It extends into the Yucatán Channel, [1] and is part of the municipality of Sandino, in Pinar del Río Province.
The Guanahacabibes National Park on the peninsula is one of the country's largest natural reserves and is separated from the rest of the island by white-sand plains, where one of Cuba's largest lakeside areas lies. A relatively small area holds some 100 lakes and the largest and purest fields of silica sand, which is 99.8% pure.

The Yucatán Channel separates Cuba from the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico and links the Caribbean Sea with the Gulf of Mexico. The strait is 217 kilometres (135 mi) across between Cape Catoche in Mexico and Cape San Antonio in Cuba. [1] It has a maximum depth near the Cuban coast of 2,779 metres (9,117 ft). [2]
