Columbia is a city mainly in Monroe County with a small portion in St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Illinois, about 12 miles (19 km) south of St. Louis, Missouri. The population was 10,999 at the 2020 census .
The city is near the Missouri River, between the Ozark Plateau and the Northern Plains. [ 22 ] [ 23 ] According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 67.45 square miles (174.69 km 2 ), of which 67.17 square miles (173.97 km 2 ) is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 km 2 ) is water.
The Missouri River floodplain lies adjacent to the northeast side of the community. Boonville lies approximately eleven miles to the northwest. Columbia is nine miles to the northeast in adjacent Boone County. [9] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.06 square miles (0.16 km 2), all land. [10]

Glasgow is a city on the Missouri River mostly in northwest Howard County and extending into the southeast corner of Chariton County in Missouri, United States.
