Genoa (/ dʒ ə ˈ n oʊ. ə / jə-NOH-ə) [4] is an unincorporated town in Douglas County, Nevada, United States. [5] Founded in 1851, [ 6 ] it was the first settlement in what became the Nevada Territory (1861-1864).
