Susan Hanson (born 11 February 1943) is an English actress who played the part of Diane Lawton (later Parker and Hunter) in the long-running British soap opera Crossroads from 1965–87, when her character was controversially killed off.

The British television soap opera Crossroads was broadcast on ATV from 1964 to 1981 and then ITV Central from 1982 to 1988. The only actor to remain for the series' 24-year run was Jane Rossington, who played Jill Richardson/Harvey/Chance, although Susan Hanson, who played Diane Lawton/Parker/Hunter, was present for most of the series' run.
He left a widow, (Susan Hanson), and their son Jack. Because of poor sales, none of Wayne's solo releases remained on catalogue for long during his lifetime. In 2006 an album of his performances, remastered with the involvement of Wood and some previously unreleased, was issued under the title Songs From The Wood And Beyond 1973–2003.

Born in Derby, Rossington's family moved to Sutton Coldfield when she was four years of age. The daughter of a bank manager, she attended Sutton Coldfield Grammar School and was an amateur actress, having trained in the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama, before appearing in repertory theatre in Sheffield and York.
