The land that is now Croft State Park was farmed from the late 18th century, and old farmsteads can still be found in the park as well as six family cemeteries and two church cemeteries. [1] During the Revolutionary War, a skirmish between Patriots and Loyalists was fought at the juncture of Fairforest and Kelsey creeks. [2]
Camp Croft is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census . [ 2 ] The 2020 census lists a population of 2,110.

6,141 acres (2,485 ha) of this park were donated in 1934 by the U.S. Government. An additional 744 acres (301 ha) were donated and purchased in 1995. The park was largely developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. [2] [4] [5] The Kings Mountain State Park Historic District was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. [1]

The park includes several picnic shelters as well as fishing and boat access to the adjacent lake. Hiking can be done on the 3.1 mi (5.0 km) Raven Rock hiking trail or the 1.4 mi (2.3 km) Natural Bridge hiking trail, as well as a short interpretive loop trail. The park also offers both backcountry and paved campsites, as well as cabin lodging.
Devils Fork State Park is in northwestern South Carolina on the eastern edge of the Sumter National Forest at the edge of 7,500-acre (3,035 ha) Lake Jocassee. It is located three miles (5 km) off SC 11 , the Cherokee Scenic Highway, near the town of Salem, South Carolina .
