Cwmbrân Town Football Club is a Welsh football team based in Cwmbran, South Wales, that competes in the Gwent County League Premier Division. The Crows were formed in 1951 when Whiteheads AFC disbanded. After playing in junior leagues the club switched to the Welsh League in 1960, moving to Cwmbran Stadium in 1975.
It was broadcast live from studios in London, with additional broadcast facilities in Guernsey, CI. It was removed from Sky channel 862 on 2 March 2016. Cwmbran Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the town of Cwmbran in South Wales. Cwmbran RFC plays in the Welsh Rugby Union Division Two East League and is a feeder club for the Newport Gwent Dragons. [2] The club badge of Cwmbran RFC depicts a shield with a crow within it, reflecting Cwmbran's translation as 'valley of the crow'.
In 1972 they were renamed as Cwmbran Celtic. In season 1972–73 Celtic won the Gwent Amateur Cup and were runners-up in the Gwent Premier League. [citation needed] In 1979 the club bought its own premises at Oak Street, Old Cwmbran which is the club's present headquarters.
The club was formed as part of two factory teams, Cwmbran Girlings FC and Pontypool Girlings FC. These two sides combined in the 1990s to become a stronger team competing as Girlings FC. In the 2000s Saunders Valve FC amalgamated with the club to create the present club of Lucas Cwmbran AFC. They were founding members of the Gwent County League.
