The Adams site is a Mississippian culture archaeological site located near Hickman in Fulton County, Kentucky, on Bayou de Chien, a creek that drains into the nearby Mississippi River. Mississippian sites on the Lower Ohio River. The 7.25-hectare site is built over the remains of a Late Woodland village.
The pair are carved from white marble and painted with red, black and green black pigments. [1] The male is 61 centimeters (24 in) high and the female 55.9 centimeters (22.0 in). [ 27 ] The pair is on display at the Etowah site museum with a diorama depicting its hasty burial.
The site was surveyed and mapped by E. G. Squier in 1847 for inclusion in the seminal archaeological and anthrolopological work Ancient Monuments of the Mississippi Valley. They described the earthwork as being a causewayed embankment 5 feet (1.5 m) high by 30 feet (9.1 m) wide encircling a ditch 6 feet (1.8 m) deep and 25 feet (7.6 m) across.
