The New Albany-Plain Local School District is located in and around New Albany, Ohio in central Ohio, about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of downtown Columbus, Ohio.The school district covers an area of 26 square miles (67 km 2), all (except for a small amount in Licking County) located in the northeast corner of Franklin County, Ohio.
In 1821, a frame school building was built on Central College; the teacher was Jacob Smith. In 1874, a new brick school was built in the Village. In 1955, the Ohio General Assembly eliminated the requirement that cities and school districts have common borders. [3] The current New Albany High School was built in 1996.

New Albany is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located 15 miles (24 km) northeast of the state capital of Columbus. Most of the city is located in Franklin County and a small portion extends into adjacent Licking County. New Albany had a population of 10,825 at the 2020 census. [4]
