The Cadillac CTS is a luxury car, manufactured and marketed by General Motors from 2003 until 2019 across three generations.. The first Cadillac-exclusive platform since the D-body chassis, Sigma debuted in early 2002 for the 2003 model year underpinning the Cadillac CTS, replacing the Cadillac Catera. Slightly larger than its V-body predecessor, the rear-wheel drive Sigma architecture was developed to accommodate all-wheel drive and extended-wheelbase variants.

The 2006 and 2007 CTS-V used the 400 hp (298 kW) 6.0 L LS2 Gen IV V8, similar to that used in the standard Corvette C6. The 2009–2015 CTS-V carried a supercharged 6.2 L LSA variant of the Gen IV V8, producing an SAE-certified 556 hp (415 kW), while the 2016–2019 model carried a supercharged 6.2 L LT4 with 640 hp (477 kW).
