Correio da Manhã TV (CMTV) is a private Portuguese generalist channel, with a strong focus on news - specially crime and sensationalist subjects - and football. It is operated by Medialivre , owner of Correio da Manhã , a notable Portuguese tabloid and the most read newspaper in Portugal.
Its public presentation was held on 24 October, where it was revealed that CM Rádio's launch date was November 11. Programming will include radio simulcasts of CMTV's Noite das Estrelas, Mercado, Manhã CM and Liga d'Ouro, as well as radio news bulletins, traffic updates and humor segments driven by current events.
Medialivre also publishes two printed magazines: Sábado [2] and TV Guia [3] as well as two online People magazines: Flash! [4] and Máxima. Medialivre also owns two television channels: CMTV and News Now. CMTV is the fourth largest generalist channel in Portugal. [2] and News Now is the fourth largest news channel in Portugal.
Since 2012, all channels are digital. All national, regional and local Spanish television channels are available to Portuguese households along the national border, subject to restrictions due to distance or local topography.
In March 2022, CNN Portugal was the most-watched paid channel and the fourth most watched channel in Portugal with a share of 4.7%. CNN Portugal had dethroned crime and sensationalist news/generalist channel CMTV, which had been leading among paid channels for 62 months, but CMTV regained its lead again in the following month.
