The Rio Grande Bible College (RGBI) is a Christian bible college in Edinburg, Texas.It is associated with the Rio Grande Bible Ministries. The college serves as a bible college for students from Mexico, Central America, and South America and it also provides Spanish language training for non-Spanish-speaking North Americans who will serve as missionaries in Spanish-speaking areas of the world.
LABI College holds a distinct place in history as one of the United States' oldest educational institutions dedicated to serving the Hispanic community. Its origins can be traced back to an important moment on October 1, 1926, when Miss Alice E. Luce, a former Anglican missionary, partnered with Ralph and Richard Williams to establish the Latin American Bible Institute.
By mid-2024, several more institutes had been accredited at ATS. They included Kairos University which was founded in 2021 by Sioux Falls Seminary, South Dakota, Evangelical Theological Seminary Pennsylvania, Houston Graduate School of Theology Texas and Taylor College and Seminary in Edmonton, Alberta. The name was changed to LIFE Bible College East in 1988. In 2003 LIFE East closed for financial reasons and its records were transferred to Life Pacific. Life Pacific now operates LPU Virginia as an extension campus at the former LIFE Bible College East property. In 2019, it became Life Pacific University. [2]
