His first head coaching job came in 2003 when he was hired by Tusculum College in the Tennessee town of the same name. Baucom immediately made an impression; his first year in 2003–04, he led the Pioneers to a 19–8 season en route to a South Atlantic Conference championship. For this, Baucom was named the SAC Coach of the Year.
In 2007, DeBusk was named interim athletic director for Tusculum. [6] He was promoted as the full-time athletic director later that same year. [ 7 ] He maintained that position until he resigned in September 2015. [ 7 ]
