Time Highway Radio was taken over by Astro Radio in 2005. It became a Tamil-language station known as "THR Raaga" on the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. On the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia it became known as "THR Gegar", broadcasting in Malay. Both stations later dropped the "THR" brand and simply became "Raaga" and "Gegar" respectively.
The radio station began broadcasting on 9 September 1994, after having started test transmission nine days before (31 August). It was known as TIME Highway Radio until 2005 and includes segments in Malay (), English and for a short period, in Mandarin (Mun Toh Tak), with Tamil-language segment (Raaga) being introduced later, as well as Hindi Power, a segment that focused mainly on Bollywood music.

The extension of Best 104's broadcast into THR's Klang Valley listener hinterland in 1996 presented a challenge of sorts to THR, with at least one deejay 'leaping' from THR to Best 104.
