A Q School Order of Merit was produced for players who failed to gain a place on the main tour. The Order of Merit was used to top up fields for the 2023–24 snooker season where an event failed to attract the required number of entries. The rankings in the Order of Merit were based on the number of frames won in the two UK Q School events.
Q Tour Europe events are generally played over three days. The first day is an open qualifying day with 16 places available. The main draw starts on the second day when the 16 qualifiers are joined by the 48 seeded players who qualified based on their rankings in the 2024 Q School Orders of Merit to make a first round field of 64 players.
The original "Order of Merit", created for the 1975–76 season and based on just World Championship results, awarded the winner five points, the runner-up four, semi-finalists three, and so on down to one point for players who lost in the last 16. The world rankings, introduced in the following year, used the same allocation.
