On the Main Page of Wikipedia, there is a section which is called did you know (DYK). DYK is meant to showcase new articles as well as rebuilt articles (articles which have been expanded over five times their original size, essentially making them new, or articles completely lacking references which are then doubled in size plus the addition of references).
In the plot, say once more that Victoria is that widow, - not all readers read sequentially, and her name is not even in the lead, just the image caption. You will guess what I'd suggest in order to avoid the impression that the article is about a woman ;) The review that impressed me most was "fun of the choicest sort, quiet fun".

Overall: Overall, the article meets all the criteria for warranting a DYK blurb, and QPQ has been satisfied, but I'm concerned that your proposed hook, in my opinion, doesn't seem that interesting or attention-grabbing.
