Hi I have by mistake override the sources.list of Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS I have googled but don't really know the content my sources.list so I will like to get the default create when one install it .
The GA kernel is currently at 5.4.0-117 and will remain at 5.4 for the rest of support of 20.04, the HWE kernel is at 5.13.0-48, which is the same kernel as used in Ubuntu 21.10, and will be upgraded to 5.15 when 21.10 reaches end of life. HWE kernels get upgraded 3 months after release of the Ubuntu release that ships with the new kernel.

Hi, For some reason on every restart Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS displays a welcome screen and i need to create a new user on every restart. Existing user are not displayed. I was using 20.04 and I simply restarted the laptop after completing my work. No update was installed by me I think there could have been an background 20.04.02 update.

When you use Ubuntu with Gnome, you may also use a gnome extension called vitals. Vitals presents fan speeds, cpu frequency, temps and more in the panel.
It started as a Ubuntu 16.04 LTS server install, and upgraded to 18.04 and then 20.04 over time. Yes, there is a separate /boot partition. I didn't seem to have a 'drop into a root shell' option in grub, but letting booting continue and drop me into a shell when it fails, using 'lvm vgchange -ay' doesn't seem to get me anywhere.
