This rainforest reserve ranges in altitude from 500 to 2,000 meters. It shelters immense plant and animal diversity, much of which is endemic, including 125 species of birds, 12 lemur species, 53 species of amphibians, 40 reptile species, 30 species of palms, and 300 fern species, of which four are found only within the reserve.
This rainforest is habitat to a vast species biodiversity, including many endemic rare species and endangered species, including 11 lemur species. The park's two component parts are Mantadia National Park and Analamazoatra Reserve, which is best known for its population of Madagascar's largest lemur, the indri. [2]
The reserve is private, and has been managed by the Filana Association since 2010. [1] It forms part of the greater Sainte Luce rainforest, which is approximately 15 km (9.3 mi) long and varies from 100 to 700 m (330 to 2,300 ft) wide. The reserve itself is approximately 1 km (0.62 mi) long and averages 300 m (980 ft) across.

Ambatovaky Special Reserve is a tropical rainforest and wildlife reserve in the north-east of Madagascar (65,000 hectares (160,000 acres)). It is designated by Bird Life International as an Important Bird Area for the large number of endemic species of birds.
It consists of several sections of the last primary rainforest, on the high plateau in central Madagascar, along with grasslands, caves and waterfalls, at an altitude of 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) to 1,650 metres (5,410 ft). The mean annual rainfall is 1,823 millimetres (71.8 in).
