Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC) is a basketball tournament participated by different high school teams from the NCAA, UAAP and Filipino-Chinese leagues. PSSBC's mission is to provide an avenue for young basketball players to further hone their skills before they will advanced in the collegiate level. [ 1 ]
The NBTC League (also known as the Smart-NBTC League for sponsorship purposes) is one of the programs under the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC). It is a Philippine high school basketball tournament through which young players are developed, and coaches and players get opportunities to move up to a higher level of competition.
The UAAP Season 86 basketball tournaments are the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournaments for the 2023–24 school year. The University of the East are the hosts. The collegiate tournaments began on September 30, 2023, while the high school boys' tournament commenced on November 21, 2023.
The UAAP basketball championships are basketball tournaments held from September to December by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, and the men's tournament is the flagship tournament of the UAAP. Basketball is a mandatory sport for all schools.

Its current format involves high school teams and clubs going through local city qualifiers, then on to the regional championships. There are four regionals: North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Four spots from each region are contested, for a total of 16 teams. For this season, 68 teams participated in the local city qualifiers. [1]
The tournament also holds the NBTC All-Star Game, which features 24–30 of the best high school players in the country. In earlier years, tryouts were held to see who would take part in the event. [23] Beginning in 2018, the top 24 high school players based on the NBTC's rankings were chosen to play in the event. [24]
Xavy Nunag was named basketball commissioner for the third consecutive year. Assisting him are his deputies Mariana Lopa and Marvin Bienvenida who will supervise the women’s and high school basketball tournaments, respectively. The UAAP also announced the return of the girls' tournament, last played in 2020. [1]
