Wakefield College is a Further Education and Higher Education College [2] in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England.It has provided education in the city since 1868. [3] On 1 March 2022, the college merged with Selby College to form the 'Heart of Yorkshire Education Group', with the college retaining its identity but with an updated logo.
In 2008 Outwood Grange College, Horbury School, and Wakefield City High School together formed Aspire Trust, [6] and became trust schools. [ 7 ] In spring 2009 the school was praised in a speech made by Prime Minister Gordon Brown after securing government approval to become England's first "Academy of Excellence". [ 8 ]

Wakefield High School is one of five public high schools located in Arlington, Virginia, United States, closely bordering Alexandria. In 2012, Crofton, together with Wakefield College, proposed the building of a sixth form centre. The staff was to be from Wakefield College and Crofton Academy. [6] The centre was ready for its first students in September 2013. However, as of 2018, the sixth form building was no longer used as a sixth form.
