In 2008, Breed became the host for The Golf Fix on Golf Channel, an instructional television show. Breed's first book (co-authored by Greg Midland), Picture Perfect Golf Swing: The Complete Guide to Golf Swing Video Analysis, was released by Simon & Schuster/Atria Books on May 13, 2008. It premiered May 15, 2012 hosted by Michael Breed. The second was the Big Break Invitational, a golf tournament held at Reynolds Lake Oconee, in collaboration with The Golf Channel, on September 30, 2014 - October 3, 2014 in Eatonton, GA. The event was held on the Jack Nicklaus designed Great Waters course along the shores of Lake Oconee.

In his book Five Lessons, in the chapter entitled "The Grip", Hogan said "I was born left-handed -- that was the normal way for me to do things. I was switched over to doing things right-handed when I was a boy but I started golf as a left-hander because the first club I ever came into possession of, an old five-iron, was a left-handed stick."

Golf instruction consists of five primary skills: shots from a tee (most notable: driving that uses a driver), full shots from the ground (mostly known as "iron shots", pitching (or 3/4 shots designed for distance control, chipping (short shots around the green the require less than a full swing), putting (1 club preferably "the putter") and course strategy or gamesmanship.
