Trumbull County is a county in the far northeast portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 201,977. [2] Its county seat and largest city is Warren, which developed industry along the Mahoning River. [3] Trumbull County is part of the Youngstown–Warren, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Warren was the first town in the U.S. to have an electric street illumination, provided by Packard Electric. [8] Warren's population was 5,973 people in 1890. Construction began on the Trumbull County Courthouse in downtown Warren on Thanksgiving Day, 1895. [9] Warren continued to grow in the twentieth century.

Griffith was born in West Farmington, Ohio on October 30, 1886, the son of Herbert F. and Lovira M. (Snyder) Griffith.
