  2. Rifle Scopes Leupold vs Zeiss... or others - Sniper's Hide

    www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/leupold-vs-zeiss-or-others.7040162

I'm personally not a fan of 50mm objectives for a hunting rifle (just preference), so my experience has been with the Leupold VX-5 in the 3-15x44, the Zeiss V4 4-16x44, and the Vortex LHT 3-15x44. Those three scopes are fairly comparable in weight and price. There's things I like about each one more than the other two.

It's already out in some of Leupold's scopes. It seems to work as advertised. The first time I encountered it, about a month ago, I thought the battery was about to die, because the illumination kept blinking. But, once the scope is level, it quits blinking. You can turn this off, if you want. This VX-6HD 4-24x52 has this feature. www.kmwlrs.com.

  4. Rifle Scopes Leupold VX6HD or Swarovski Z6 - Sniper's Hide

    www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/leupold-vx6hd-or-swarovski-z6.6978226

The Z6 is priced higher but I can get a used Z6 for around the same price as the Leupold. I have both Z8i 1-8 and VX6HD 1-6 scopes. I think the Leupold glass is brighter, side by side, in daylight, at 1 power. The illuminated circle dot reticle on the Swaro is preferable to the Leupold dot, as the Swaro allows both dot and circle-dot.

Leupy says same glass formula as Mark 5 so should be really good. Scope is likely to be very forgiving but where it’s not forgiving is FOV, numbers (if correct) at 23.5’ at 4.5x and 5.2’ at 18x are among the most narrow of modern scopes. The old Bushy was known to be a bit tight but this one even tighter so we’ll see.

Do they make ---. Optical glass is made in very few places Japan and Germany being two of the primary producers.I believe Leupold like most others contract from several sources for the raw glass. They have a spec set for what they want and who ever can supply that spec at the time probably gets the order. 7. Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25x56 Rifle Scope with PR2-MIL reticle review

Observing a plate rack at ~650 yards though the Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25×56 rifle scope with PR2-MIL reticle For my review, I chose Leupold’s latest reticle design, the PR2-MIL. This design is the result of a collaboration between a number of Leupold’s top competitive shooters, including John Pynch, Dan Bertocchini, and Doug Koenig.

  8. Maven rs4 vs Leupold Mark5 hd vs vortex razor - Sniper's Hide

    728. Mar 13, 2021. #2. The maven is essentially a razor with different branding and reticle. I’m assuming it’s made in the same place (LOW). I’d get the Razor over the maven. Most people I’ve heard compare them say the glass on the Mk5 is better than the Razor. I haven’t noticed much difference looking through them and the FOV on the ...

  9. Rifle Scopes MEOPTA Optika 6 vs Leupold VX5 HD - Sniper's Hide

Old Bethpage NY. www.cameralandny.com. Jul 13, 2022. #2. Both are dependable, quality scopes with similar quality optics. The Meopta has a clunkier looking design vs the more classic design of the Leupold. IMO, the turrets are nicer on the Leupold as well. 3.

Jan 26, 2012. #1. Alright so I am ordering a 6.5 Creedmoor DPMS Rifle next week or the week after courtesy of the IRS and have been at optics for it and wanted some opinions. The two scopes I am looking at currently are a Leupold Mark 4 ER or LR 6.5-20 which prodeals for 950-1150 (LR/ER) Or Nightforce 5.5-22 NXS for around 1950 (zero stop) Now ...

Couple things to mention: - Remington 700 30-06 with timney trigger with about 80 rounds shot. - I confirmed the scope base and rings were tight. - Confirmed the scope is level. - Tried to zero with both CDS dial and the standard one. - I let the rifle cool down every few rounds. - Hornady 178gr Precision hunter ammo.
