Re: Sq ft. to cubic yards by Robert Fogt on 02/16/05 at 18:06:44 You will need to know the height also. square feet * height in feet = cubic feet
For example, if you want the rock layed 1 foot thick, you convert 1 foot to yards then multiply: 2000 square yards * (1/3) yards = 666.67 cubic yards 666.67 cubic yards / 13 cubic yards/truck = 51.3 trucks 666.67 cubic yards / 15 cubic yards/truck = 44.4 trucks So you would need between 45 and 52 truck loads if you wanted the rock 1 foot thick.
Calculate the volume, height, base width, base length, or top length of a wedge.
square feet to cubic yard to cubic feet by neil sexton on 05/02/05 at 19:35:21 hello my name is neil and I am a college student workin a foundation project where i have to find the sq ft the convert it to C.F. then convert it to C.Y. so if anyone can help me to make sure I have this here is what I have 6,509.3 S.F 2,167.6 C.F. 80.2 C.Y.
Re: convert square footage to cubic yards by Robert Fogt on 12/19/05 at 20:41:04 The formula for volume is: Length * Width * Height As long as all the units are the same. If the units are feet the result will be cubic feet, if the units are inches the result will be cubic inches, etc. 1020 feet * 50 feet * 4 feet = 204000 cubic feet
Re: Tons to Square Yards by Keith Wagner on 03/22/05 at 13:22:54 Lets say I have an 8-inch Asphalt paved roadway with a quantity shown as being 7,930 Tons. I believe I found a formula for arriving at tons from square feet, but not sure if it's correct or how to properly reverse it. The equation looks like this:
Re: square yards to tons by Robert Fogt on 04/15/05 at 22:54:03 I found data on the following: Asphalt, crushed - 45 pounds/cubic foot Limestone, broken - 97 pounds/cubic foot Limestone, pulverized - 87 pounds/cubic foot First we need to convert everything to the same base unit, such as feet. 10,126 square yard = 91,134 square foot 4 inches = 1 ...

Re: tons to cubic yards by Robert Fogt on 08/22/05 at 22:11:12 I will calculate the cubic yards you need. 630 square foot * (1 inch / 12) foot = 52.5 cubic foot 630 square foot * (2 inch / 12) foot = 105 cubic foot 52.5 cubic foot = 1.94 cubic yard 105 cubic foot = 3.89 cubic yard
Re: Square feet of rocks to Tons by Robert Fogt on 08/05/05 at 03:55:05 256 square foot * (3/12) foot = 64 cubic foot So you need 64 cubic foot of rock. I could not find any data on quartz landscape rock, but crushed stone has a density of 100 pounds/cubic foot. We can use that as an estimate. 64 cubic foot * 100 pounds/cubic foot = 6400 pounds
