Longwood University's 14 varsity athletics programs, known as the Lancers, compete at the NCAA Division I level. Thirteen of those teams compete in the Big South Conference, while field hockey is a member of the Mid-American Conference. Longwood has six varsity men's teams, including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer and tennis.
