Peenya is an industrial area of the Bengaluru city in India. [1] [2] and it is one of the biggest industrial areas in Asia.[1] Peenya lies on the Bangalore-Tumkur Highway (NH-4). It houses small, medium, and large-scale industries.
Nicknamed "IT capital of India" and "Silicon Valley of India", Electronic City is a large industrial area on the outskirts of the city. With hundreds of IT companies' offices located in the area, including the headquarters of Infosys and Wipro , Electronic City also houses auto manufacturing and financial companies.

It was established in 1972 as Indian Scientific Satellite Project (ISSP) in Peenya Industrial Estates of Bangalore. [1] ISAC was renamed as U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) after the former ISRO Chairman and ISAC founding director Dr. Udupi Ramachandra Rao with effect from 2 April 2018. URSC is situated in Vimanapura Post.
